Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility is fundamental to how we operate our business. We recognise that by meeting our clients’ needs for legal services we can have an impact on the environment, the sustainability of the world’s resources and the welfare of individuals and communities. We are committed to minimising any adverse impact of our activities on society and the environment. This obviously leads to greater efficiency, lower costs and a good reputation as a service provider and employer.

Our employees are encouraged to suggest ways in which the firm can exercise its community and social responsibility in line with its business objectives.

We are committed to making a positive contribution to the communities in which we live. We are involved in many initiatives including widening access to higher education and employment, raising money for causes close to our hearts and providing pro bono legal advice to charities. We hope that our efforts have a positive impact on our staff, our clients and the wider community.

Our CSR policy is only effective if it is put into practice.

Morisons makes a difference

Following a year of fundraising activities from bake sales to fun runs, Morisons presented Chest Heart & Stroke; Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre which develops ground-breaking research; Erskine which supports veterans; Brightest Star which supports bereaved parents and Combat Stress, which supports former servicemen and women with mental health conditions, with cheques for £500 each.

Gillian Brown, Partner at Morisons Solicitors said, “Selecting a charity to support is a really tough decision so we were delighted when staff were keen to pitch ideas of organisations who had played a part in helping them in some way.   We also enjoyed all the various events hosted over the past few months, it’s been a great experience.”

Karen McBeath, Community Fundraising Manager, Erskine added, “Every donation we receive makes a huge difference and ensures we can continue to provide a broad range of support and activities that enrich our veterans’ lives.”
