It was encouraging to hear Nigel Wilson, CEO of Legal & General, speaking last week about remaining upbeat in the light of Brexit.
Recently, Morisons was part of a round table discussion with David Mundell MP, Secretary of State for Scotland. There was a clear and pragmatic message to him. Companies in Scotland, and those who invest in companies in Scotland, need to know that it is business as usual. That grants and funding will be available for businesses to grow and that free movement of people, the backbone of our businesses, will remain.
Which is why Nigel Wilson’s outlook struck a chord. He said politics delivers important behavioural signs to business, and business will respond positively to economic policy that is pragmatic…doing not talking. There are opportunities. So let’s look for those and help our clients to do likewise.
