Solicitors for the Elderly in Scotland

4th July 2016

Solicitors for the Elderly, a nationwide organisation of solicitor members who specialise in advising older clients and the challenges that face them, held its first Scottish committee meeting on Thursday 30 June in Edinburgh.

The well respected group has regular meetings south of the border and the formal establishment of the Scottish committee reinforces the importance of the work carried out by the organisation and the member solicitors.

Solicitors for the Elderly are unique in its offering as accredited membership is granted only to those solicitors who have passed a set of rigorous entrance exams focusing on this area of practice.  Such entrance requirements and the ongoing annual continuing personal development criteria enable Solicitors for the Elderly to maintain its highly respected reputation of professional advisors.

The organisation also provide an opportunity for support and learning for solicitors advising in this area of law and hold a public register of those solicitor members who are qualified to advise in this regard.  Details of all such advisors can be found on their website

Nicola Gibson, an associate within Morisons’ Individual and Family Services Division, is a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly with over ten years’ experience advising in this area of practice.  For further information, please contact Nicola.
