Iain is one of the firm’s Trainees and is currently completing his Pre-Diploma training contract. He joined the firm in 2005 whilst studying Scottish and English Literature at Edinburgh University and over a period of time took on increased responsibility within the Edinburgh Office for Plot Sales as part of our Housebuilder Unit. His time dealing with Plot Sales involved him in many aspects of legal work from the negotiation of contracts through to the conclusion of transactions.
Following his graduation in 2008 Iain decided to further his career in law and started a Pre-Diploma traineeship which is one of the Law Society’s alternative routes to becoming a Solicitor. Following commencement of his traineeship Iain initially worked in our Lending and Recoveries Unit dealing with the recovery of arrears and then moved into property management and conveyancing all on behalf of heritable creditors. He also has experience dealing with many aspects of residential conveyancing.
As a pre-diploma trainee Iain is required to move around different departments within the firm and has the opportunity to gain experience in new areas of the law.
