Alasdair qualified in 1992 and is a Partner, and head of the Family Law Department.
Alasdair has been instrumental in shaping the way forward for Family Law in the firm, promoting the resolution of disputes through discussion and negotiation, placing interests of children at the forefront, and seeking to make highly emotive situations as manageable as possible.
Considered an authority on Child Law, Alasdair often deals with case referrals from other Solicitors. He has particular interest and expertise in matters relating to child contact and residence cases, child relocation cases and surrogacy.
Accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland in Family Law and Child Law, Alasdair was also amongst the first solicitors in Scotland to be trained in the collaborative procedure, and he is also a qualified family law arbitrator.
